Who This Is For
The Mock OSCEs training is for vets who have passed the first part of the RCVS Statutory Examination and must complete the OSCEs stations to finish the exam and register with the RCVS.

This course is limited to 4 participants each day to make sure everyone has plenty of hands-on time and individual feedback.

Where Does It Take Place?
This course will take place in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, at Ayr College.
Getting to Ayr
Ayr is located on the West Coast of Scotland. Here's how to get there:
✈️ Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Glasgow Prestwick International Airport is a 10-minute drive from Ayr. There is also a train from the airport into Ayr town centre.
🚂 Glasgow Central Station
The train takes 45 minutes to reach Glasgow Central Station (Glasgow City Centre).
🚌 Glasgow & Edinburgh
There are good links to Glasgow, including Glasgow International Airport (train, bus), and also Edinburgh Airport (bus to Glasgow Bus Central where there are buses to Edinburgh Airport).
Accommodation, Meals & Travel
Accommodation & Meals
Accommodation and meals are not included, but we will provide you with a list of suitable places for accommodation, as well as shops and restaurants. We do have access to the College refectory and food machines, which will make for more affordable meals 🙂
Travel
Travel to Ayr is not included, but we will help you find adequate travel options (flights, bus, train).
What to Bring
We recommend every participant brings their stethoscope and comfortable shoes. You can also bring your overalls and wellies if you want to wear the clothes of your actual OSCEs.

We can book days rather than the week if you only need to do some mocks.

Deposit
To book more than one day, we request a deposit of £300. This is fully refundable if you cancel your attendance before May 1st (when you should know if you are already able to take the 2026 OSCEs).
Schedule & Stations

There will be no live animals on this course. This course will be purely for OSCE simulation using stations created with models.
We will provide you with instructions on how to perform different tasks, as well as our video demonstrations. We will not be repeatedly teaching how to perform specific tasks. The goal of this course is to put you through the type of high pressure environment you'll be expected to deal with during your OSCEs examination. If you want to practise tasks, have a look at the course in PORTUGAL.

How the Stations Work
The stations will be timed and after each student's turn, we give feedback on their performance. We will have a variety of stations with a series of common scenarios and rotate roles for each station.
The Vet Being Examined
One student takes the role of the vet being examined.
The Examiner
One student takes the role of the examiner.
The Vet's Assistant
One student takes the role of the vet's assistant.
The Client
The instructor plays the role of the "client".
